Varian Beaufoy
"I want to understand,
empathize,
and protect every single one of you."
"Regardless of what it may take."

Name: Varian Beaufoy
Age: 47
Pronouns: He/Him
Homeland: Ishgard
Occupation: Temple Knight
Appearance
Varian is large for an Elezen, both in height and build. He often towers over most others of his race, and even outside of armor his physique tells easily of his combat-oriented occupation. His keeps his hair between unkept and half-heartedly styled, mostly just to keep his crystal-blue eyes uncovered. Much like his family, he is of a darker skin tone than most of Ishgard, although many are too dazzled by his bright smile and sunny personality to notice much else.
General About
Following his mother's footsteps, Varian began training as a knight at the earliest age possible. Although he has the typical education of any minor noble, Varian isn't nearly as learned as most when it comes to academics, history, or anything outside of combat. In most cases, the books he tends to read are often combat manuals. Despite that, he does take after his elder brother in some ways, in that he is quite pious and faithfully follows the Orthodox Church.Although known for his notable strength and accolades of being fearless on the battlefield, Varian is not high in the hiearchy of the Knights. This is mostly due to his long absence from the order when his brother went missing, as Varian opted to search for him over performing knightly duties. Over those years, he had to arrange for the burial of his father and the relocation of his elderly mother, who could not adapt to the new clime of Coerthas after the Calamity. Although the Church declared his brother dead after a couple years, Varian refused to believe it and continued to search for him. When his brother did return, Varian pledged to taking care of him as he recovered. However, once that role was done, Varian finally returned to the Temple Knights just as the Dragonsong War came to a close. Now he has joined the deploying forces and takes assignments that take him out of Ishgard, although he frequently returns to ensure his brother remains safe at home.

- Temple Knight: Varian is an active Temple Knight, although often is seen in the Brume assisting his fellow countrymen. He is especially popular among the children, often playing with them and giving his belongings to them if he believes it would help. If you haven't seen him being charitable there, you've probably heard him as he and the children play.- Always Smiling: Varian is known to be highly optimistic and always seeking the best possible solution to any conflict. He always strives to bring smiles and any measure of happiness to those around him.- The Arts: Much like his elder brother, Varian also performed in their father's opera troupe and was often cast as the young hero. He still enjoys singing, and will often perform one-man recreations of the heroic stories of his father's operas for the Brume children.- Gavel of Law: Varian holds the law in high regard and believes law is needed for a society to function. However, he also believes in grace and empathy, always wanting to believe those who do wrong can better themselves still. And yet...
Yo, it's Kid, everyone's favorite bitch. As always, the usual rules apply: don't want any racism, sexism, homo- or transphobia, dark themes require prior agreement, don't approach for ERP, etc.If there are any problems or disagreements, please send me a tell and we can work it out. If somehow we can't, we can surely walk away with no qualms or problems. I'm not here for drama, I want to have fun and vibe.As always, thanks for checking out my boy!
Despite what many may think, there isn't just a law-abiding, good-doer Knight standing here.He knows the law has flaws. Anything made by man has flaws. Even gods like the Fury has flaws.People are flawed and are capable of not just great good, but great evil. He knows not all can or will repent. He knows there is a 'too late,' 'too far,' and 'too much.'When the law fails, he won't.To protect all he can, he will strike down all he must.
